Tofukuji Temple in summer

Momiji (もみじ) in mid-summer time

Tofukuji temple in Kyoto is one of the most famous place for autumn foliage.

The leaves starts to change color in November every year.

However, the lovely garden of Tofukuji temple is also very beautiful in summer. It’s so green… everywhere you look.

The temple was built in 1236, scaled after the temple complexes in Nara. It was burnt in 13th century and was rebuilt in 15th century. The Sanmon gate of Tofukuji is the National Treasure.
